Google Flights is a booking tool. You're probably already familiar with its features, but here are several additional tips for finding cheap flights in advance.
Find the cheapest month to fly
If you know where you're going, but you're free to decide on what dates you will, you can find the cheapest months to travel to that destination. These are average estimates, but often be quite successful, although it should be noted that the final prices can vary greatly depending on when you book.
Instead of the estimates, select flexible dates from Google Flights, then cruise actual prices. Flexible Dates tab shows a standard calendar view rates, but the price chart gives a further visual price idea. It is also somewhat easier to navigate because you can see a more specific price range simultaneously.
Finding the cheapest travel options per month
Say you're at the opposite end. You know when you're traveling, pro where you do not care. Let's say you can only go on vacation in May for a couple of weeks. Flights ago Google launched just a new tool. It is in the "Discover destinations". There, instead of entering the exact dates, you can select one month and one time slot within that month (weekend, a week, two weeks ...).
You can even filter by region or country and different interests (honeymoon, food, adventure, nature ...).
Program notifications when prices change
Regardless of the trip you're planning, it is wise to start doing price monitoring as soon as possible, because they tend to fluctuate based on well.
According to CheapAir.com, the sweet spot are find the best prices is about 54 days before the travel date. Flights Google makes it very easy to track the prices of a flight because you can save your itineraries.
Hat your search normally. Select an outbound flight and a return to look after you well and select "Save this route." Google Flights lets take a look at all the saved routes and price changes. You can also activate Google Now alerts when prices change.
Recently, use this feature to save on u trip. I put different routes to the same destination by changing the date, time or airports. When the time came, I was able to choose the cheapest option.
Explore vacation destinations by region
It's fun to explore your destinations by region. For example, if you know you want to travel to Asia but you're not sure exactly what part, simply type "Asia" in the search bar, select a month to travel and Google Flights will show the destination cities during that period and to the region, along with their prices.
Search durable transfers to visit cities "hidden"
One of my favorite ways to use Google Flights is to find a city "hidden" transshipment. By this I mean find a flight with a durable transfer that allows me to quickly learn a different city where I go, this way you can enjoy another city as you travel to your main destination. It is a bonus for your holiday.
To achieve just looking for a flight as usual, but under the tab "More" will see a list of cities to make transfers that you can choose from. If you are looking further alternative select the options "Any connection" and "any time" before doing your search. Thus the results transshipment will show more wait time.
